Certified Nurse Midwife and Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner, Malika Iton has joined the professional staff at Oswego County OB-GYN, P.C. and the medical staff at Oswego Health.
Ms. Iton relocated from NYC, where she provided care at several NYC hospitals as an obstetrical nurse. She has also worked at the University of Pennsylvania, School of Nursing, where she served as a lecturer and clinical instructor.
She earned her master’s degrees in Nursing, Nurse Midwifery and Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner from the University of Pennsylvania School of Nursing in 2013. She is certified by the American Midwifery Certification Board and the National Certification Corporation as a Women’s Health Care Nurse Practitioner.
Ms. Iton said she is eager to provide a range of women’s services, including well women’s care and gynecological/obstetrical services. Ms. Iton will be sharing 24-hour hospital obstetrical coverage at Oswego Hospital alongside Daniel Coty, D.O; Raj Mahajan, M.D; and Theresa Naro, C.N.M.
Oswego County OB-GYN, P.C. has been providing obstetrical and gynecological services to the women of Oswego County for more than fifty years. In addition to routine obstetrical and gynecological services, staff members offer gynecological surgery, infertility and a medically supervised weight loss program.

We have served the women of Oswego County since 1960 and have been providing the full spectrum of women's health care needs. Our staff consists of Physicians who are Board Certified Specialists in Obstetrics and Gynecology; Certified Nurse Midwives, a Certified Nurse Practitioner, Physician Assistant, an Ultrasonographer, Licensed Practical Nurses, Medical Assistants and Support Staff.
We encourage regular checkups with pap smears, pelvic exams, breast exams and mammography. We offer preventative, diagnostic and acute patient care with a wide range of special services:
We offer full obstetrical care from pregnancy testing to delivery and postpartum care, including the management of high risk obstetrics, midwifery services and the use of in-office ultrasound. We provide family planning counseling and offer all prescription birth con¬trol methods including oral contraceptives, patches, Depo-Provera, diaphragms, rings, IUD's (Mirena, Skyla and Paraguard), Nexplanon, tubal sterilization including the Essure technique.
We offer well women's care, including Pap smear screening, preventative health care, treatment of PMS, nutritional counseling, initial infertility testing, diagnosis and treatment of sexually transmitted diseases as well as disorders of the uterus, cervix, ovaries, fallopian tubes and vagina. Hormonal and surgical treatment of infertility is also available. We also offer HPV testing, treatment and prevention with the HPV vaccine Gardisil.
Surgery and Procedures
We are experienced in the most up to date surgical treatments including the use of laser and Laparoscopic equipment. We offer in-office colposcopy, cryosurgery, electro-surgery and ultrasound for obstetrics and gynecology.
We offer infertility counseling, workup, testing, artificial insemination and other services.
Weight Loss Program
Each fully individualized weight loss program is supported with on-going one-on-one care including nutrition, fitness, medication, behavioral motivation, nutritional products and counseling.
Our providers will use the latest techniques, electronic BMI scales and medical data available in the field of Bariatric medicine including access to high quality nutritional products that are only available to medical doctors.
We offer appointments Monday – Saturday at three office locations to serve you. Office visits are by appointment. We encourage you to telephone as far in advance as possible. Appointments for six-month and yearly exams should be made six to eight weeks in advance. Call between 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday through Friday. For emergencies please call us as early in the morning as possible.
